I write about tea mainly – tastings, travels, tea making, baking with tea, what I’m learning – and whatever else happens to take my fancy. Get a brew going and enjoy 🌱

About this blog
Welcome to the tea with Maren blog – we’ve graduated from sporadic slow-mo brewing IGs to actual words on an actual site! In 2023, I lived in Wazuka, Japan for three months on a tea internship with Obubu Tea Farms, at which point I figured it might be worth finally starting to write a bit more seriously about tea. And given my wide range of interests, I’m dabbling into other topics as well – books, photography, linguistics, queerness, mental health, neurodivergence, sustainability, design, art…
People tell you to find a specific niche, but I have a lot more fun in the liminal spaces between, and in the crossovers where different things intersect. So rather than clearly delineated tea reviews and travel updates, expect a bit more of a free-flowing, playful approach to things here. This is a creative space for me to play with words and find the fun in writing and creating again.
Love & tea,
Maren xx
